The overshadowed concept of midlife crisis, stress, and depression

Mid-life crisis is a natural process (first identified by the psychologist Carl Jung) and it is a normal part of 'maturing'. However, midlife crisis can sometimes feel very uncomfortable, and cause people to seek psychotherapy or counselling, or to make radical lifestyle changes that can be very damaging and are regretted later.

The process is not a strict 'sequence of events'. It consist of Accommodation, Separation, Liminality, Reintegration and Individuation.

*note: if you are presently undergoing a painfull transition, seek the support of family members or if this is unapplicable to you seek support from people you trust, have known you for years, and vice versa, and YOU consider as family.
